"27th Annual Art Auction":

For the collector, and would-be collector, this is your opportunity to meet Tucson artists, see their work in one exhibition, bid and purchase work and help Dinnerware continue to bring you some of Tucson's best exhibitions.
If you are seasoned collector then you've been to this one. If you are a new pioneer in the field, this is the time to see a range of works in one setting, speak to the artist or artists and try your hand at purchasing. If you represent 1/2 of a couple, then this is the time to use your couples negotiating skills at purchasing art. Always a good skill to nurture. This is a lively auction and its fun. Dinnerware enjoys staging the event and you'll enjoy it, too. We have easy parking, easy check-in, and a quick and easy check-out process. Take your newly acquired works home that night!
As for any auction, know your spending capacity for the night. Some artworks go for higher than retail, some go for lower, but you have to be there at that moment to pounce on it. There is also a silent auction which begins Oct. 7th and closes the night of the live auction, Oct. 21st. Check out those items as well. Collecting art work is the one thing where you can exercise a number of skills.
- Learn what kinds of things you like to have around you.
- Art collecting doesn't answer why?? it only satisfies something about ourselves.
- Taste is transient and different for everyone and there is no accounting for it. That's one reason we have art.
- Color, Textures, line, movement, metaphor: these are some of the tools that help determine what we like..
