Burning dissent/ cool delights:
New works by Simon Donovan and Joe Rebholz

Dinnerware Contemporary Arts is proud to present the works of Simon Donovan and Joe Rebholz. Two artists working in very different ways have teamed together to create a unique and controversial exhibition. Simon Donovan, known for public art such as the famous Rattlesnake Bridge, is creating work with a political message. Using visually striking images of the Iraq War on large billboard sized artworks, Donovan adds his own commentary in the form of text placed throughout the work. His political voice is heard for the first time in the art community, and it comes out loud and clear.

Joe Rebholz is a former student of Simon Donovan’s through the Tucson Museum of Art’s mentoring program. Rebholz joins his favorite teacher in this exciting exhibition. His digitally created “paintings” are colorful abstractions that are playful and unique. Rebholz’s works are subjective in content, offering a cool contrast to Donovan’s heated work
